Hold My Hand
Last fall I took a trip to Ireland with my family, my daughter took this photo of my oldest grandson and I walking on the grounds of Blarney castle. My 18 year old grandson walked up to me, gently put his arm around my shoulders, we just kept walking together, every time I see this photo my heart fills with love and the memories of him (along with my 3 other grandkids) walking holding my hands. This quick little verse was inspired by this photo, from the tiny toddler hands that would grasp just one finger to now grown offering hand for assistance (if needed) along the path.
Hold My Hand
Tiny hands come quietly to Grammie’s hand
Sometimes only one finger is just enough
Knowing we can stroll together is the plan
As the years pass, those hands have grown
Yet they still quietly seek Grammie’s hand
Finding comfort in the warmth of the known
Now hands come to act as guide
Knowing love always fills the heart
While strolling with Grammie side by side

I remember that very special photo. I don't have any Grandchildren, but dozens of Godchildren... including a lovely young man, Noah, who was baptized last night. He wrote me a beautiful text this morning: I look forward to always and forever being your godson and helping you whenever you need as you have and do help me soo much.
What a beautiful memory for you with your grandson♥️
